Research Participation Terms

Last updated: 3 September 2026

Overview

These Research Participation Terms apply to individuals who participate in research studies conducted or commissioned by Plenrise. By participating in a study, you agree to these terms.

Plenrise manages research on behalf of clients. The identity of the organisation commissioning any particular study is not disclosed to participants.

Voluntary participation

Participation in all Plenrise research studies is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw from a study at any time before submitting your response without penalty. Partial responses are not used in analysis.

You will not be penalised by your research panel provider for withdrawing from a study before submission.

Purpose of the research

Each study begins with a description of its general purpose. The specific identity of the commissioning client is not disclosed to participants to prevent bias in responses.

Research is conducted for commercial purposes — typically to help a business make a product, market or pricing decision. No research results are used to make decisions about individual participants.

Your data

Your responses are collected via your research panel provider and passed to Plenrise in anonymised or pseudonymised form. Your individual responses are never shared with the commissioning client.

Reports delivered to clients contain only aggregated, anonymised findings. Individual participant data is not identifiable in client reports.

Your data is retained only for the period necessary to complete the research analysis, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Anonymised, aggregated data may be retained for longer for quality assurance and methodology improvement purposes.

Participation standards

You are asked to provide honest, thoughtful responses. Responses that appear inattentive, fraudulent or inconsistent with screening criteria will be removed from analysis. Removed participants may not be eligible for their incentive payment, subject to the rules of the panel provider.

You must not participate in any study for which you do not meet the stated screening criteria. Providing false information during screening may result in your removal from the study.

Incentives

Participation incentives are managed by your research panel provider in accordance with their terms and conditions. Plenrise does not directly manage incentive payments. If you have a question about your incentive, contact your panel provider.

Sensitive topics

Some studies may cover topics related to health, finances, employment or personal experiences. Participation is voluntary and you may skip questions you are not comfortable answering or withdraw from the study at any time. Studies involving sensitive topics will provide an appropriate notice at the start.

Privacy

Your privacy is protected at all times. Plenrise complies with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and applicable international data protection legislation including the UK GDPR.

Your responses are processed on servers located in Australia and the United Kingdom. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

For further information about how Plenrise handles personal data, see the Plenrise Privacy Policy.

If you have a question or concern about a study you have participated in, contact Plenrise using the contact form on the Plenrise website. We will respond within 5 business days.
